[LAFAYETTE, IN] — The Board of Directors of United Way of Greater Lafayette has announced the retirement of Chief Executive Officer David Bathe, effective June 30, 2026, and the appointment of Jennifer Million as the organization’s next CEO beginning July 1, 2026.
Bathe joined United Way of Greater Lafayette in April 2022 following a distinguished career as Chancellor of Ivy Tech Community College Lafayette, where he served for more than 20 years. During his leadership at United Way, the organization continued to build on its strong foundation, advancing both fundraising growth and long-term organizational sustainability while expanding its impact throughout the community.
“Dave’s leadership came at an important time for our organization,” said Jacque Chosnek, Chair of the Board of Directors. “His steady guidance, community relationships, and commitment to United Way’s mission have helped strengthen our organization and position us well for the future. We are incredibly grateful for his service and leadership.”
The Board also announced that Jennifer Million has been selected as the organization’s next CEO following a board led leadership transition process.
Million began her career with United Way of Greater Lafayette in 2010 as a Community Impact Associate, where she successfully launched the organization’s VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program.
A graduate of Indiana University with a degree in Public Financial Management, Million was promoted to Director of Finance and Operations in 2016 and later advanced to Senior Director as her responsibilities expanded across the organization. During a leadership transition at the end of 2021, the Board appointed Million as Interim CEO before she was named Chief Operating Officer when Bathe joined the organization in 2022.
Throughout her tenure, Million has developed extensive knowledge across all aspects of United Way operations, including finance and operations, marketing and fundraising, program management, grant making and reporting, strategic initiatives, and community partnerships.
“Throughout this process, there was a clear recognition of how much Jen has grown as a leader within the organization and the important role she plays in United Way’s success,” said Board Chair Jacque Chosnek. “As the Board reflected on the future of United Way of Greater Lafayette, there was a strong consensus that Jen is the natural next leader for the organization. We are excited for the future under her leadership and confident she will continue building on the strong foundation that Dave helped strengthen.”
Million said she is honored by the opportunity to lead the organization into its next chapter.
“United Way of Greater Lafayette has been such an important part of my professional and personal journey,” said Million. “I am deeply grateful to the Board for their trust and confidence, and I look forward to continuing to work alongside our staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners to advance our mission and create meaningful impact across Greater Lafayette.”
